NANAIMO, BC – Nanaimo-based marketing agency Array has received a gold award at the 2026 Hermes Creative Awards for its rebranding work with British Columbia accounting firm DMCL LLP.

The award recognizes the agency’s work in developing a new brand identity for DMCL, one of Western Canada’s larger accounting firms.  The rebrand included a refreshed visual identity and brand strategy designed to reflect the firm’s evolution and position in the marketplace.

The Hermes Creative Awards are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an international organization that recognizes excellence in marketing, communications, public relations and digital media. According to the organizers, the competition attracted more than 6,000 entries this year from organizations in the United States, Canada and 29 other countries.

Entries are evaluated by industry professionals who assess projects on creativity, effectiveness and overall execution.  Awards are presented in a diverse range of categories spanning advertising, branding, publications, web design, public relations and integrated marketing communications.

Array received a gold award in recognition of its work on the DMCL project, placing it among recipients recognized for creative excellence in this year’s competition.

“Winning gold at Hermes is a reflection of what happens when a client is genuinely willing to evolve,” said Kristina Crowson, CEO + Marketing Director at Array.  “DMCL trusted us to challenge the conventions of their industry, and that trust is what made the work possible.  We’re proud of what this brand became.”

DMCL LLP, which traces its history back more than four decades, provides accounting, assurance, advisory and tax services to public companies, privately held businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals.  The firm employs more than 300 and operates offices in Vancouver, Surrey, Port Coquitlam and Victoria.  It is also a member of Moore North America and the global Moore network, which provides accounting and advisory services in more than 100 countries.

According to the companies, the branding initiative represented the firm’s first major visual identity update in more than a decade.  The project involved developing a revised logo, visual design system and brand messaging intended to create a consistent identity across digital and print platforms.

For DMCL, the brand refresh was about more than updating our look,” said Krissy Schmidt, Director of Marketing and Communications at DMCL LLP.  “After more than a decade with the same visual identity, we wanted a brand that more closely reflected who we are today: approachable, knowledgeable, relationship-driven, and proudly different from what people might expect from a traditional accounting firm.”

Founded in 2009, Array provides branding, digital marketing, web development and creative communications services to organizations across Canada.  The agency is based in Nanaimo and works with clients in a range of sectors, including professional services, health care, education, construction, development, manufacturing and technology.

International creative awards programs such as the Hermes Creative Awards are commonly used within the marketing and communications industry to recognize work completed by agencies, corporate marketing departments and independent creative professionals.  While the awards do not measure business performance, they are generally regarded as peer recognition of creative and strategic execution and can help raise the profile of both agencies and their clients within the industry.

The recognition adds to a growing list of international honours for Canadian agencies and highlights the continued participation of Island-based firms in global creative competitions.
